Girls’ Day at the Airport and Museum!

ottawaThe Rockliffe Flying Club, the Eastern Ontario Chapter of the Ninety-Nines and the Canada Aviation and Space Museum welcome girls and women to the Rockcliffe Airport!

The Eastern Ontario Chapter of the Ninety-Nines and the Rockcliffe Flying Club will provide free flights to girls and women who have never flown in a small aircraft! Flights will depart from the Museum.

Registration for free flights is required. Flight availability is limited. Scroll down to complete the flight reservation form today!

Ongoing activities during the day :

8:30 AM: 99s / Girl Guide Aviation Badge. Local Girl Guides will meet members of the 99s and take part in activities to earn the Girl Guide Aviation Badge. By invitation only – please ask your unit guider.

11:00 AM & 2:00 PM: Members of the Canadian Forces Parachute Team, the SkyHawks, will demonstrate how their equipment works and will interact with attendees.

1:00 PM : Natalie Panek, a robotic operator and aerospace engineer at MDA Space Missions, will share her path and will answer questions. Her presentation will be broadcast worlwide.

Other activities during the week:

March 7 & 8: Climb aboard the Rockcliffe Flying Club’s snow plow that they use to keep the runway clear, weather permitting.

March 4-10: Family activities at the museum, including ejection seat demonstrations, an egg launch challenge and aircraft visits. For details, please visit the Canada Aviation and Space Museum’s website.
