Local girl and world aerobatic champion, Pascale Alajouanine will welcome crews in Le Touquet

Pascale Alajouanine

“I was born and raised in the Pas de Calais and spent most of my vacations in Le Touquet since childhood,” wrote Pascale Alajouanine as she offered to help after she heard of the fly-in.

It was in the Pas de Calais when a little girl dreaming of freedom launched herself on the swing over and over again in an attempt to perform a loop around the supporting bar. It was also in the Pas de Calais that the same little girl developed a taste for competition thanks to sibling rivalry with her twin brother.

No family member flew so learning to fly was not exactly on Pascale’s radar. In fact, she choose a career as an optician, a career that she pursued throughout her life and still enjoys today.

With the encouragement of her husband, Régis Alajouanine, an experienced aerobatic pilot and the founder of the “Amicale de Voltige Aérienne”, this 27 years old new mother took her first flight lesson on a Cap 10. Each session to learn basic skills was peppered with rolls, loops, and inverted flight as a reward.

Only 6 years later, she won her first title, France Aerobatic Champion. This was only the beginning of an impressive aerobatic pilot career. That first prize was quickly followed by many other France Aerobatic Champion titles but also several European and World Aerobatic Champion titles.

On March 10, Pascale will be in Le Touquet to answer the questions of girls and womens curious to learn how to take their first step towards becoming a pilot but she will also take on the role of the curious and will interview the crews that will land in Le Touquet.
