Unique prizes from our Silver Sponsor, AOPA

19 February, 2011 in Headlines, Latest News, United States by Mireille - Intl Team Leader

In the January 2011 edition of AOPA Pilot Magazine, Craig Fuller, AOPA’s president, wrote: “What you will see from us in 2011 is a real effort to Rally GA. We don’t just want to watch for a turnaround, we want to do everything we can to make it happen!”

To make it happen, AOPA became Women of Aviation Worldwide Week’s Silver Sponsor by sponsoring the trophies and plaques for all the 2011 competitions:

  • Most Dedicated Woman Pilot Worldwide
  • Most Supportive Male Pilot Worldwide
  • Most Dedicated Female Flight Instructor Worldwide
  • Most Dedicated Male Flight Instructor Worldwide

AOPA sponsors Women of Aviation Worldwide Week

When Craig Fuller, AOPA’s president, wrote “What you will see from us in 2011 is a real effort to Rally GA. We don’t just want to watch for a turnaround, we want to do everything we can to make it happen!” in the January 2011 edition of AOPA Pilot Magazine, he was not just talking; he meant it.

So when he heard that the Women of Aviation Worldwide Week celebration aims to promote aviation to girls and women and includes a drive to introduce girls and women to flying, he had to do something. AOPA contacting me and ask if they could become one of our Silver Sponsors.

Whoa, that is so refreshing. Not just words, actions. That’s exactly what Women of Aviation Worldwide Week is all about.  No just talking about wanting to have more women involved, doing something about it. With such positive attitude, AOPA, the world’s largest Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, is a perfect sponsor for this first ever annual celebration of the Women of Aviation. We are so happy to have them on our side.

Please visit AOPA website, if you are a pilot. Visit their ‘Let’s Go Flying’ website, if you are interesting in learning to fly.
