International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. A paid holiday in some countries, March 8 is a day of gratitude, reflection and action. In some countries, men traditionally offer flowers to all the women that touched their lives.
March 8 also marks the anniversary of the first female pilot license worldwide. Raymonde de Laroche of France earned a pilot license on March 8 1910.
